Students from University of Benin Demonstration Secondary school (UDSS) have dominated the 2017 National Art Competition for secondary schools.
The Competition is a Joint Venture initiative of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and Chevron in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education.
The theme for this year’s edition was: “The Nigerian Spirit,” the competition welcomed 20 winners across the secondary schools in the federation.
In the senior category, ELLIOT ISOKPAN, an SS 1 student and DAISY OBOIGBA, an SS2 student, came first and third respectively, both of UNIBEN Demonstration Secondary School.
While in the junior category, a JS 3 student of UNIBEN Demonstration Secondary School, ANTHONY UMORU came second.
For their efforts, the winners in both categories got a scholarship of N100, 000 for the duration of their secondary education, while the first and second runners-up got N75, 000 and N65, 000 respectively.
