Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo State, has received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission for several postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.
The NUC also approved three new full-time undergraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
NUC Releases ACU Accreditation Results
The National Universities Commission released the results of its October/November 2025 accreditation exercise and granted full accreditation status to selected programmes at Ajayi Crowther University.
The details were sent in a letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole.
NUC stated that the results reflect compliance with minimum academic standards under Section 10(1) of the Education (National Minimum Standard and Establishment of Institutions) Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
Master’s Programmes With Full Accreditation
Three master’s degree programmes in the Faculty of Administration and Management Sciences received full accreditation.
They are:
- M.Sc. Accounting
- M.Sc. Finance
- M.Sc. Business Administration
These postgraduate programmes now carry full NUC accreditation status.
Education Programmes Also Receive Full Approval
The NUC also granted full accreditation to four programmes in the Faculty of Education.
The approved programmes are:
- Education Computer Science
- Education Economics
- Education English Language
- Guidance and Counselling
For candidates interested in ACU Education courses, this result gives a clear answer on their accreditation status.
Allied Health Sciences Programme Accredited
Radiography and Radiation Science in Allied Health Sciences also received full accreditation.
That places the programme among those cleared by the NUC after the October/November 2025 review.
NUC Approves Three New Undergraduate Programmes
A separate letter dated 10 February 2026 conveyed approval for the start of three new full-time undergraduate programmes at ACU’s main campus.
The approval followed a resource assessment visit by a panel of experts.
The new programmes are:
- B.Sc. Broadcasting
- B.Sc. Journalism and Media Studies
- B.Sc. Information and Media Studies
These courses will start from the 2025/2026 academic session.
ACU Expands Media and Communication Studies
The newly approved programmes add to Ajayi Crowther University’s offerings in media and communication studies.
The Vice-Chancellor described the outcome as a “resounding vote of confidence” in the university’s academic and infrastructural standards.
For ACU, the NUC accreditation result and new course approvals give the university community a clear update on programme status ahead of the 2025/2026 session.
