Chrisland University Secures NUC Accreditation for Law, 2 Other Programmes

Updated: May 9, 2026 by Ayo Faith

Chrisland University, Abeokuta, has recorded another academic milestone after the National Universities Commission approved accreditation for three programmes.

The programmes are Law, Mass Communication, and International Relations and Diplomacy.

The approval followed an assessment by the NUC, where the commission checked the university’s academic standards, staffing, learning facilities and curriculum. After that review, the programmes met the benchmark minimum academic standards set by the commission.

Programmes Covered by the NUC Accreditation

The latest accreditation covers three academic areas at Chrisland University.

They include:

  • Law
  • Mass Communication
  • International Relations and Diplomacy

For students, parents and other members of the school community, the approval gives a clear update on the status of these programmes.

Vice-Chancellor Speaks on the Approval

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyedunni Sola Arulogun, announced the accreditation and linked the outcome to years of planned work across the university.

She said the recognition reflects steady investment in human capital development, learning facilities and curriculum growth.

Professor Arulogun also thanked the Board of Trustees for its commitment to the growth of the university. She praised the management team and members of staff for their work before and during the accreditation exercise.

What the NUC Checked

The NUC accreditation exercise examined core parts of academic delivery at Chrisland University.

The review covered academic standards, staffing, infrastructure and curriculum. The Vice-Chancellor described the exercise as a peer review process used to check quality assurance across academic delivery.

That means the process looked beyond course names.

It checked whether the programmes matched the required academic benchmark.

Chrisland University’s Growth Since 2015

Chrisland University was founded in 2015, and the school has continued to expand its programmes while keeping to regulatory standards.

The latest accreditation outcome is expected to raise confidence among parents, students and relevant stakeholders. It is also expected to support graduate employability and further place the university as a centre for academic excellence.
