The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination on Thursday, 16 April 2026. At this stage, 632,788 results are available for viewing.
The Board made this known in a statement issued on Friday and signed by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin. The message was clear; candidates can check their scores by SMS, but they cannot print the result yet.
How candidates can check JAMB result 2026
JAMB directed candidates to check their result by sending “UTMERESULT” through SMS to 55019 or 66019.
The message must be sent with the same phone number, or SIM, used during registration. That detail matters a lot. A different line will not serve the purpose.
Result printing is not yet available
The Board stated that candidates can only view their results for now. Printing options are not yet open.
So, for the Moment, the result can be seen, but it cannot yet be printed.
JAMB warned against altering result messages
JAMB also warned candidates against trying to manipulate or change the SMS received from its official channels. The Board said any attempt to fabricate or alter scores in order to mislead others, including parents, is a criminal offence.
In its words: “Candidates are strongly cautioned against manipulating the SMS received from the official platform (55019/66019) to fabricate or alter scores with the intent to mislead others, including parents. Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence.”
That warning was direct, and it left no room for guesswork.

Some suspects are already in custody
The Board said it has already started acting against offenders. It stated that two candidates and one parent are in custody for result falsification carried out with AI and other electronic means.
JAMB also said: “Currently, two candidates and one parent are in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means. Any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law.”
More results will come in batches
JAMB added that the examination process is still ongoing. Because of that, more results will continue to be released in batches as they are processed.
That means some candidates may still need to wait a little for later batches.
