Lagos State University Senate at its 300th Statutory Meeting held on Thursday, 27th July 2023, has considered and approved a notification of the Lagos State University Alumni Association (UK Branch) Scholarship Programme Scheme presented by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi OLATUNJI-BELLO, mni, NPOM.
The Lagos State University Alumni Association, UK branch, is doing this in its endeavor to give back to its alma mater and support the institution’s goals hence the introduction of this scholarship scheme.

The Objective of the Scholarship Programme
Named the “Lagos State University UK Scholarship Programme”, its primary aims include:
- Assistance to Struggling Students: To aid fifty select students who face challenges in paying their tuition fees.
- Financial Relief: Addressing the economic burdens faced by students unable to meet their educational expenses. This initiative also aligns with the fifth strategic goal of the Vice-Chancellor, focussed on elevating student welfare.
- Alumni Giveback: A gesture from the Alumni Association to contribute positively to their esteemed institution.

Who Can Apply?
For those considering this opportunity, the criteria for eligibility are as follows:
- Student Status: The applicant must be a full-time undergraduate at Lagos State University.
- Year of Study: Should be in the second year (200 level) first semester, progressing up to the first semester of the 500 level.
- Academic Performance: All components of the current academic year must have been completed and passed.
- GPA Maintenance: The student should boast a minimum of a 3.5 Cumulative GPA.
