About the Scholarship Program
The Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCO) operates Oil Mining Lease 118 and collaborates with Nigerian Agip Exploration, TotalEnergies Nigeria, and Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria (Deepwater) Limited under a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC). Together, they invite applications from qualified Nigerian students for the 2024 NNPC – SNEPCO National University Scholarship Programme.
Details of the Program
This scholarship program is designed to support full-time, second-year students in Nigerian universities accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The program provides an annual grant to successful applicants, covering their academic expenses from the second year until they complete their undergraduate degree.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen.
- Be in your second year of full-time study at a Nigerian university accredited by the NUC.
- Have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or the equivalent in other grading systems.
- Not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship from an entity in the oil and gas industry, either national or international.
- Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Selection Criteria
The selection process includes:
- Receiving your application via the scholarship portal by the specified deadline.
- Inviting eligible candidates for a monitored computer-based test.
- Shortlisting the top 10 candidates from each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for academic verification.
- Disqualifying candidates with falsified results.
- Awarding the scholarship to candidates who meet all the criteria and maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 per session.
