There are basically two modes of entry into the program:
(a) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Admission
To be admitted through this mode, candidates must have passed Mathematics, English Language, and Economics plus any other two relevant subjects at credit level in the West African School Certificate (W.A.S.C.)/Senior Secondary School Certificate or G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) or National Examinations Council (NECO) obtained at not more than two sittings.
Candidates are expected to sit and write the following subjects in UTME; English, Mathematics, Economics, and one other relevant subject.
(b) Direct Entry Admission
Students with the following qualifications are to join the second-year level for a three-year degree program in Marketing.
(i) HND with Lower Credit and above in Marketing, or any other related Business Administration discipline.
(ii) OND with Upper Credit and above in Business Administration, Marketing, Banking and Finance, Public Administration, Cooperatives, and Accountancy.
(iii) At least a GPA of 2.5 (on the 4-point scale) or 3.5 (on the 5-point scale) in OND or merit in NCE.
(iv) Five credit passes in GCE, (or its equivalents- WASC, SSCE) with two of the credit passes in English and Mathematics compulsory for both HND and OND candidates.
(v) Transfer students from other universities with related and relevant courses with a GPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale. Such students must have O’ Level credit passes in English and Mathematics.
(vi) Transfer students from relevant courses in UNN must possess credit passes in Mathematics and English and must have completed at least one academic year in their previous course with grades of average of C.
(vii) Candidates with Advanced Level passes in either GCE or H.SC in Economics, English Language, and Mathematics at credit level in O’L GCE/WASC/SSCE/NECO may also be admitted by Direct Entry for the four-year B.Sc. program of the Department.

Today all the efforts of individuals are directed at the marketing of various resources that have sustained the life and growth of nations. The graduates of marketing are the future captains of Industries and the bedrock of the world economy.
