Other fees that you will be required to pay include:
SEVIS Fees
SEVIS stands for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System. It is an online-based system used to track F, M, and J visa participants as well as their family members. It tracks them from when they receive the initial documentation (either DS-2019 or I-20) until they leave school or graduate from the program.
Applicants for any of the visas under SEVIS are expected to check with their US-based schools to ensure that they have their information in the SEVIS system. They are also required to make a separate payment for SEVIS along with their visa application fee. For non-immigrants with the I-20 form, the fee is $350. On the other hand, it is $220 for those with the DS-2019 form.
Blanket L Fee
This is also known as the Fraud Prevention and Detection Fee. Any first-time principal applicant who is covered under the blanket petition for L status is required to pay a fee of $500. The fee should be paid to the cashier at the US Consular Section in cash on the day of the applicant’s interview. In the case where there is a subsequent L-1 visa application that is based on a new I-129S form, the fee has to be paid again.
