University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the College of Community Health Undergraduate and Postgraduate Diploma programmes for the 2026/2027 session.
The notice covers two routes, and the entry rules are not the same. For applicants, that distinction matters.
UITH Community Health Programmes Open for 2026/2027
The College of Community Health has opened admission into:
- Undergraduate Programme
- Postgraduate Diploma Programme
Eligibility Criteria for UITH Undergraduate Programme
The Undergraduate route has stated conditions that applicants must meet before applying.
General Requirements
Applicants for the Undergraduate programme must:
- hold a Diploma in Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW)
- possess five O’Level credit passes in SSCE, WASCE, NECO, or GCE O’Level at not more than two sittings
- have credits that must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
For the one-year programme, the candidate must possess:
- a first Degree in Community Health Science, or
- HND in Community Health, Public Health, or Health
For both programmes, the candidate must:
- be registered by the Community Health Practitioners Board of Nigeria
- possess a valid licence to practise

Eligibility Criteria for UITH Postgraduate Diploma
The Postgraduate Diploma route also has its own conditions; the licence and academic record sit at the Centre of this part of the notice.
General Requirements
Applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma must possess five O’Level credit passes in SSCE, WASCE, NECO, or GCE O’Level at not more than two sittings. The subjects must include:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
Applicants must also possess:
- Community Health Officer certificate or result
- valid current practising licence obtained from the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria
The applicant must also hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours, Lower Division, from a university recognised by the Senate of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria in any of these disciplines:
- Community Health
- Health Education
- Public Health
The National Youth Service Corps Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion certificate is compulsory and must be made available during the application.
