UNILAG DLI admission agent warning

Updated: March 21, 2026 by Ayo Faith

The Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos, has informed the University community and the general public that it has no affiliation with external admission agents, consultants or representatives claiming to act on its behalf in the processing of applications, admissions or related activities.

That notice sets one point at the centre of the message; applicants are expected to deal with the Institute through the approved channel only.

Approved application portal

The Institute states that all applications must be submitted only through the official UNILAG application portal.

It also states that the approved application fee is N20,000, payable only through the official portal.

What applicants should avoid

The notice gives clear directions to applicants. It states that:

  • applicants should not make payments into personal bank accounts
  • applicants should not make payments into third-party bank accounts
  • no external agents or individuals are authorised to represent the Distance Learning Institute in admission matters

The Institute adds that any dealings with such persons are at the applicant’s own risk.

Official enquiry channel

For enquiries, applicants are directed to visit the Admissions Office at:

2nd Floor, DLI Administrative Building, UNILAG, Akoka

Applicants may also send an email to:

[email protected]

Key message from DLI, UNILAG

The admission notice from the Distance Learning Institute is direct and plain; no outside agent, consultant or representative is authorised to handle applications or admissions on its behalf.

Applicants are expected to use the approved portal, pay the stated fee through that route, and avoid personal or third-party accounts.
