Benson Idahosa University Admission Requirements For UTME Candidates
To secure admission into the Benson Idahosa University in 2022, UTME candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Candidates must have reached the age of 16.
2. Candidates must have at least 6 (six) “Cs (Credits)” grades in their O-Level result (s).
That must include English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects related to their course of study.
For example, a candidate who wants to study law must have a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics and Literature-In-English.
3. Candidates must score at least 180 in the JAMB UTME examination.
4. Candidates must take the BIU post UTME screening examination and must perform very well in the examination (Depending on the course of study).
5. Benson Idahosa University (BIU) does not allow TWO sitting results.
6. Candidates must choose the correct subject combination for their courses.
7. Lastly, candidates must meet the agreed cutoff marks for their courses to gain admission into the university.

Benson Idahosa University Admission Requirements For Direct Entry Candidates
To gain admission into BIU, Direct Entry candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Candidates must get the JAMB Direct Entry form from JAMB to apply.
2. Candidates must have also reached the age of 16.
3. Candidates must possess at least five (5) Credits in their O-Level results. That must include English Language and Mathematics. However, BIU does not allow two sitting results.
4. To apply for Direct Entry, you must have any of the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, and ICAN.
As a candidate, if you do not meet all the admission requirements, you won’t be able to gain admission into BIU.
So, you should meet all the school admission requirements and perform well in the required exams.

The school acceptance fee is N50,000 and is non-refundable.
Does BIU Accept Payment In Installments?
Yes! You can pay school fees in 2 instalments. This applies to all courses offered at this university.
Please note that all students must pay at least 60% of the sessional fees before registration.
However, payment is ineffective without due registration at the ICT Unit and the Financial Services office.

How Much Is Hostel Fee In BIU?
Benson Idahosa University provides affordable and conducive accommodation facilities for students.
Hostel fee for Law and Social/Management Science Faculties are N175,000, N100,000, #N75,000 & N50,000 respectively.
Hostel fees for all other faculties are N100,000.
Is Phone Allowed In BIU?
No! The use of mobile phones, small radios, MPs, and walk-mans in the library is prohibited.
BIU University Dress Code
Benson Idahosa University, as a faith-based institution, strictly adheres to decent dressing.
- Students must maintain a tidy appearance.
- T-shirts, sunglasses, unwashed clothes, and slippers are not allowed in the class.
- Male students must neatly tuck their shirts into trousers during school official hours.
- Jeans and sagging trousers are not allowed on the school premises.
- Female students must dress modestly.
- Female students should not expose the sensitive parts of their body nor put on skirts or gowns above the knees.
- Students must be formally and corporately dressed in shirts, trousers and ties or complete suits and ties during official school hours from Mondays – Wednesdays with well-polished shoes.
- Students are allowed to dress in native wear only on Thursdays and Fridays.

If you are a candidate with an awaiting result, be rest assured that BIU allows candidates to apply for admission with awaiting results.
However, you must upload your O-Level result immediately after it is out.
