It is true that Jamb is only displaying first choice school, course and admission status currently on her Jamb caps admission checking portal.

Having checked your first choice University or Polytechnic with admission status showing, “not admitted“, you would want to check your second choice University whether they have offered you admission (sure).

As a matter of fact, so many candidates did not sit for post utme screening in their first choice Universities; but only second choice school. For these set of applicants, it is certain that their names will be in the admission status of their 1st choice school (In this case, your hope lies in second choice University).

Now, back to the question at hand, how do I know if I have been admitted in my second choice institution? You can check this in two ways…

  1. Waiting for your second choice school to release her admission list (1st, 2nd and 3rd batch).
  2. Waiting for Jamb to update admission status for your second choice school.

Let me explain how to go about these…

Wait for your second choice school to release her Admission list (1st, 2nd and 3rd batch)

Once your second choice institution releases her admission lists, you would certainly be able to see that in the school website. Procedure for checking admission list for your school is always made available and are very easy.

When your second choice school releases her admission list and you are admitted, be happy because it is the same lists that would be sent to Jamb (Jamb will also admit you).

Wait for Jamb to update admission status for your second choice school.

Jamb will soon update the admission status for your second choice University or Poly. This would be done soon… Immediately Jamb updates the second choice school in Jamb caps portal, I will update this post to inform you. STAY TUNED!

Feel free to to ask me any question using the comment box or quickly share this with others.
