You don’t feel like reading? Don’t worry at all. There are many other things to do. After all, all work and no play makes you dull.
There are so many students who have missed a lot from the good things of life because they fail to create time for rest and play. I understand that experience in school is not a very interesting one. You are trapped all day in the class and hemmed in at night with series of homework. However, if you don’t rest you will rust.
Don’t allow pressure to measure up make you want to give up on other interesting things. I know you like reading, but below are things you should consider doing when you are not in the mood to read:
DON’T FEEL LIKE READING? CHECK THESE GUYS OUT
1. WALK ROUND
You don’t feel like reading? take a walk. This is a very wise thing to do. Apart from the fact that exercise makes you healthy, it makes you ready too.
You have been in that environment for long, yet you don’t know places around apart from your street. Why? At least go out and check somethings out. Don’t be told everything.
2. DUST YOUR ROOM
This is another thing you should do when you don’t feel like reading. Your room is dirty, with books littered around.
All these while, you have been making paths from the door to your bed. It is an opportunity to tidy up your room. Don’t procrastinate this time around. Take it as fun; make the process interesting.
3. CHAT WITH FRIENDS
This is cool, especially when you have not been chatting well with friends. Pick up your phone, call that boy or girl that you have been missing. He/She will really appreciate it.

4. WATCH A GOOD MOVIE
Another option you have when you don’t feel like reading is to watch a good movie. I was a victim of this.
I never spent quality time watching movies until recently. Watching interesting movies relieve you of stress and makes you happier.
5. HANG OUT WITH FRIENDS
Your friends determine your trend. In your free time, hang around with friends. Just have some fun.
6. VISIT FRIENDS
Don’t feel like reading? remember you promised “Harsh” that you would be coming for a visit. Visit friends and know how they are doing.
You can as well pay a surprise visit to your class rep.
Just pick a pen and drawing book; then begin to draw. You can draw people and objects as well. This simple act can boost your creative power.
The effectiveness of meditation cannot be over-emphasized. It is not what you look like that determines your level of greatness but what you think like. Always create time for meditation.
9. ENJOY MUSIC
Life without music will be very boring. Music makes the world a better place. You don’t feel like reading, so, tune to your favorite playlist and begin to enjoy good music. You can as well sing or dance along.
10. PREPARE QUALITY MEAL
You have been buying snacks and cooking noodles because you have been on a tight schedule. Now that you have free time, why not prepare quality meal?
11. PLAY INSTRUMENTS
Do you have guitar, piano or any other musical instruments! what are you waiting? Start the groove.
At your leisure time play and develop your skills in instruments. This is a playful way of learning.
12. STORY! STORY!!
Pick up a pen and write stories. The story could be either from personal experience or the experience of others. Check your story and see how you can improve on your writing skills.
13. MAKE YOUR HAIR
This is especially for ladies. Sometimes you get choked up by academic work that you don’t have time for yourself. Now that you are free or don’t feel like reading, while not tidy up your hair.
Don’t leave it unkempt. If not for anything, but for guys like us looking at you. Guys on the other hand should shave and keep their hair clean as well.
14. GET RID OF SHOULDS
There are many things on your to-do-list. “…When am less busy, I will do this, I will do that….”. Do them now. Time is not a handset but an asset. Don’t shake hands with procrastination.
15. HAPPINESS FIRST
Apart from reading or other academic work (that is, if they make you happy in the first place), there are other things that make you happy; try to do them. Remember, your happiness really matter.
16. SHOW OFF
Put on your best clothes and show off. Let fellow students notice your presence.
17. ATTEND ANY SEMINAR AROUND
Seminars are meant to service destinies. Attend seminars and learn new things. Make sure you come out of that seminar hall with a new idea. All you need is one idea.
18. GO TO THE FIELD
Go to the field and play football. Form Messi and Ronaldo, in fact, play like me (that is if I can play). Be very careful anyway, so that you won’t sustain injury.
19. PLAY GAMES
Are you a game lover and don’t feel like reading? Bring out your phone or PC and begin to play games. I know you love Real football And game of throne.
20. MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY
In your own small way, you can put a smile on someone’s face. It doesn’t really need to be financial… A little word of encouragement from you can save a soul. Trying everything within your ability to make someone happy today.
