JAMB said it decided to introduce this measure after it discovered that many candidates use the biometric issue as an excuse to cheat. You would get penalized if found to be impersonating.

Recall that the board had earlier stated that any candidate with biometric issues must report at its office in Abuja to resolve the issues and write the examination.
It was gathered in 2019 that out of the 52 candidates that were referred to Abuja due to biometric issues from the various states, only 22 of them showed up in Abuja for registration despite the fact that the board would be responsible for transportation.
Jamb Made N840 Million In UTME Sales
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board disclosed that it made N840 million in the last week of the 2019 UTME registration period; between February 15 and 21, 2019 as revenue.
It was gathered that the sum was generated through the ongoing registration for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and other sources including the sale and use of its electronic facilities.
According to the board, N55,392,973 was made from the use of its electronic facilities; N758,000,000 from UTME registration, N24,073,710 as service charges by the CBT centers N3,162,720 from consultancy service and N16,000 from other sources.
It, however, noted that within the week, it recorded an expenditure of N97,052,298 million through its expenses on staff claims, payment for utilities, taxes among others.
