Available Courses and Duration

Here is a list of the courses you can apply for at the UBTH Institute of Health Sciences and Technology:

1. Health Information Management: National Diploma (ND) – 2 years, Higher National Diploma (HND) – 2 years.
2. Environmental Health Technology: ND – 2 years, HND – 2 years.
3. Ortho Cast Technology: ND – 2 years.
4. Dispensing Optics: ND – 2 years.
5. Biomedical Engineering Technology: ND – 2 years, HND – 2 years.
6. Community Health Officers: 1 to 2 years (leading to Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)).

Important Note on UTME Requirement

All candidates applying for ND programs must have taken the 2024 UTME (JAMB) examination and scored at least 150.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission, you need the following qualifications:

1. Minimum of Five Credits: You must have a minimum of five credit passes in not more than two sittings in WASSCE, NECO, or GCE O/L. These credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Credits obtained from NABTEB are also acceptable.
2. Special Requirement for Environmental Health Technology: Health Sciences can be used in place of Biology.
3. Special Requirement for Biomedical Engineering Technology: If you have a pass in wood works, auto mechanics, basic electricity, technical drawing, or fine art, it will be an added advantage.
