Universities in Nigeria conducting Post UTME after Jamb UTME to determine who gets admitted was already becoming a thing of the past. However, it has come back to stay. This time, it is staying.

It is no news that the ban on post UTME examination has been lifted. That is to say, all schools now have the freedom to set post UTME examination questions for their aspirants. It shall be permanent.

Now, you may begin to wonder, will the University of Benin (UNIBEN), UNILAG, LASU, UI, AAU, UNILORIN, ABU, DELSU, YABATECH, and other top institutions conduct Post UTME after Jamb CBT 2022.

The truth is, top Universities and polytechnics will conduct post UTME exam next year. This will enable them to select the best and most qualified candidates for 2022 Jamb admission process.

Post-UTME is a better test of knowledge than Jamb. It helps filter out those who passed Jamb by mistake (you could also pass P-UME by mistake anyway).

Now, Is Post UTME A Good News? Writing P-Utme for 2022 admission is both good and bad news.

For those who scored low in Jamb by mistake, it is a golden opportunity for them to prove their worth. A score above 70 or 80% in P-UTME can cover up for your low Jamb score.

On the other hand, Jamb score of 270 would have been enough to get you into a very competitive course. However, a post UME score of 50 will drastically affect your Jamb score by bringing down the aggregate score.

The two arguments above justify the fact that schools conducting post ume exam is both good and bad news. Hope I have been able to convince and not to confuse you?

The last question you may want to ask is, when will schools announce their post Utme examination date? As from next month, Post UME exam dates will start rolling out. Some schools have already started screening; they will not conduct post UME exam this year.

Note: Most universities set current affairs questions in addition to normal Jamb subject combinations. Click here to practice post-UTME current affairs quiz at flashlearners question bank and you won’t have any problem.
