School or Course Changed to Not Reflecting On Jamb Slip

Jamb Change Of Course Institution Wahala: I have met three sets of candidates who are experiencing issues with Jamb change of institution and as a result asking three different types of Jamb COC/COI questions. I will list out the common change of institution (COI) questions and answers to them.

The First Question: I did a change of course but my old course is still appearing in the Jamb slip; how do I get it to show the course I changed to?

The Second Question: The school I changed to is not appearing; Should I still sit for post UTME since the school and course are not appearing on my slip?

The Third Question: I didn’t receive any email after a change of Institution, how am I sure that it was done successfully?

Answers: It is normal for your Change of Institution or Course not to take effect immediately. It takes some time for the school or course you changed to reflect on your slip. This is the reason you should make changes as quickly as possible so that your name can reflect in schools post-UTME.

Jamb hasn’t sent your details to the new school you changed to that’s why the new school have not seen your record. If you only changed course it is still the same thing. Jamb has not sent the update of a new course to the school so that your new course would start appearing. Finally, if you did the change of institution very well, then you shouldn’t bother much about confirmation.

You may be wondering, how long does it take for Jamb to send my details to the new school I filled in my change of institution? Less than a week under normal circumstances. It could also take more time.

  5. Hello. This is lengthy, but please bear with me.
    I applied for UI when i was registering for jamb but along the line, i discovered that the subject combination i chose for my course was wrong. So i quickly changed to UNIBEN where my jamb combination is accepted. I couldn’t register for the putme. It kept showing ‘no application record found’. So i went to the jamb office, and the official there said that it was a general problem for people that changed institutions recently (to be unable to register for putme in their new choice of school), that the only option we have is to go to the school to submit our original jamb result in the admissions office so that we can register. But because i live very far from Benin, i decided to change back to UI, to choose another course that accepted my jamb subject combination.
    So, i registered for the putme. But after everything, i wanted to print my slip, but it was showing the old course i chose. I decided not to print the slip yet, hoping that the change will reflect but it hasn’t.
    My questions, would it affect anything? Should i go to the admissions office in UI to submit my jamb slip like the official said or should i not worry? Because it seems like jamb hasn’t sent my new info to UI, and its almost useless to depend on jamb for anything. Will it affect my admission into the new course i chose even though its my old course that is in the UI database currently?

  10. Changed my choice of school from unical to uniben, tried processing UNIBEN’s post utme, they write no application record found, and the deadline for the post utme application is on Sunday. I’ve gone to Jamb CBT center, they say I should wait for the jamb to transfer my data from unical to UNIBEN. The trouble is that the post utme application deadline is on Sunday.

    • pls wilson how were you able to resolve the issues. i actually did my direct entry change of institution and course from imsu to unn. been trying to apply for the direct entry screening for unn. it keeps showing that my jamb reg no. is not in their direct entry database.pls help

    • I can’t really tell. However, you may go to any CBT Centre around to complain

    • Go to Jamb office or wait for your school to send details to Jamb
