There are a lot of Problems Creating Quality Content as a blogger in Nigeria. The problems affect every genuine blogger. However, “it tells more” on new bloggers.
Now, Content is one of the most important Google Ranking Factor. Two other extremely important ranking signals are RankBrain and Backlinks. There are over two hundred (200) google ranking factors.
No wonder we have all agreed in blogging that content is the king. With good content, you are expected to do well on search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Yandex and People will love your blog. This is the ideal thing, but it is not the case in Nigeria.
There are a whole lot of problems creating high quality article in Nigeria. The genesis of the problem is simple, Nigerian bloggers love to copy. I mean copy word for word.
Just imagine someone copies your post title, first paragraph, other paragraphs and conclusion? They copy content that took you days to create and still don’t link back to you.
On the other hand, just imagine you copying everything someone labours to create word for word? What if what you do to other bloggers is done to you? Imagine the reverse.
The problem of creating high quality content as a blogger in Nigeria is that you won’t know the blogger who actually wrote the article. One person writes the article, 99 others copy. Some will backdate the post, others will fast forward the post. This problem then creates other Problems.
The problem of creating high quality content as a blogger in Nigeria is that you won’t know the blogger who wrote the original article.
Resulting Problems
Guess what? Some times, Google will rank the copied version over the original version. This happens especially when the blogger who copies from you has higher authority. I have experienced this several times. You begin to wonder, what is now the gain in originality?
Nothing is as painful as seeing your article get more page views in another blog. This is something that took your time, energy and mental ability. The truth is, you won’t know how painful it is until it happens to you.
But many Nigerian bloggers are wicked sha. They will copy the post that took you hours and days to create, and still pray to rank more than you on Google and Bing. In fact, they will be happy seeing your rankings drop for their own to rise.
What is Wrong?
Copying another persons content from A to Z is wrong. You can copy part of the work and make reference. Again, copying other bloggers high-quality content just once or two times is even manageable, but why would you copy more than 50% of what is on another man’s blog? This is wrong. Don’t continue this in 2020.
Possible Solution
Don’t even think of disabling copying on your blog. No matter what you try, people will always copy. No plugin has so far been able to solve the problem of copy completely without affecting user experience.
The only solution so far is reporting bloggers who continuously copy your post to Google. See how I report bloggers who vow to copy everything I post here.
I am trying something out, how to pull a blog down completely for copying too much. When I have used it on some wicked bloggers and it works, I will share it with you.
