Also by developing this skill, students can plan balanced menus, make grocery lists, and prepare ingredients in advance to save time and ensure they have nutritious meals throughout the week in the hostel.

2. Knife Skills

It’s not funny that knife activities can hinder a smooth meal preparation when you don’t know how to use a knife appropriately. Having a knife cut can mess up the whole meal preparation plan as the time you spend applying first aid treatment could be used to complete the meal process. Therefore, it is vital to learn basic knife skills, such as chopping, slicing, and dicing. This allows you to prepare ingredients quickly and accident-free.

3. Cooking Heat Techniques

Some food ingredient doesn’t need overcooking or cooking under high heat specifically for veggies such as Okro and Pumpkin. Cooking skills for students include learning basic cooking heat techniques like simmering, boiling, stir-frying, and deep frying. Learning how to balance heat, timing, and ingredient order, is crucial for achieving well-cooked and flavorful results.
