Many people have encountered a lot of rejections because of their failure to either submit the required documents or not stating what is actually needed in their applications.

You don’t have to go through the same route, and we are here to ensure that. Let’s get started and help you put your best foot forward, shall we?

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: It is one of the most important aspects of your application because it tells the admission committee: who you are, why you’re applying, why you’re good candidate, and what you want to do in the future.

Universities expect you to talk about who you are, what has influenced and inspired your academic and professional journey so far, your interests and professional goals. It should also involve detailed information about your preferred school and how the unique modules for your preferred course will affect your career goals.

You should also add specific reasons why you chose that university (you can get this by reading about the school thoroughly on their website or by registering for their webinars, and following their social media handles for updates).

REFERENCE LETTER: Reference letters let others speak for you. Typically, they are considered additional evidence that you’ll successfully complete the Master’s you are applying to.

If you were asked to submit letters from professors, then these letters will focus on your academic skills and achievements. If you are allowed to submit a reference letter from an employer, universities expect the letter to reflect the skills related to your Masters.

For example, if you are applying for a Computer Science degree, it is more valuable to have a reference letter from your superior in a tech company rather than a reference letter from an employer with whom you worked in customer service.

Make sure you ask for the reference letters, in advance so they reach the university on time.

CERTIFICATE OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY: Another important document that would need to be submitted is *the Certificate of English Proficiency. This is proof of your competence in communicating with the English Language.

This document would assure the admission committee that you possess the requisite skills to write, listen, read and speak effectively with class mates and lecturers.

There are four globally recognised English proficiency tests that you can take depending on your preffered institution of choice. They are: IELTS (International English Language Testing System), TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), and Cambridge’s CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English).

You can take any of the tests conducted by these proficiency systems to get your certificate.

ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS/ CERTIFICATE: This could be your High School transcripts as a High School leaver or your first degree transcripts as an undergraduate. Academic transcripts provide the university full details about the courses you studied and the grades you had in them.

It helps to find out if you possess the foundational knowledge and skills you need for the undergraduate or Master’s program. This is the reason why it is pertinent that you have the best grades in the courses that are most relevant for the Undergraduate/Master’s programme you are applying for. Your certificate is a proof to the institution that your accreditation is authentic.

PASSPORT AND VISA: Visa and residence permit requirements differ among various countries. The process of obtaining a passport, visa, or residence permit is an essential part of your study abroad preparation. A visa is a stamp on a passport page that signifies an agreement on conditions of entry.

A valid passport is needed to enter your country of study. You might need to check your passport and be sure that it is not going to expire in the next six months. If you don’t currently have a passport, you should visit the foreign embassy of the country of study and apply for one through the fastest service possible.
