Having many Websites or Folders in your hosting plan, you may want to know their sizes so as to monitor resource usage on your server. You can check Folder and Website Sizes using File manager on your cPanel.

A few days ago, I got warnings from my hosting provider about disk usage. Meanwhile, there are many blogs and websites on my hosting. I had to check all the Folder sizes without opening the folders one after the other.
I will show you how I checked folders and website sizes on my control panel without opening all the folders to check file sizes. The following are procedures I followed:
- Logged in to cPanel
- I Opened File Manger
- Navigated through the websites and folders
- I Clicked on each website/folder of my choice
- I right-clicked to show an option to Compress
- I Compressed each Folder of my Choice
- Checked the compressed folder to see the size
- I then clicked on each Zip File and deleted them
- I Skipped the trash to permanently deleted the files
- Done
That was how I checked the size of all folders in my File Manager. You can use the same technique to check the size of both main and subfolders in your Control Panel. It works for Namecheap, Hostgator, Bluehost, Sitground, inMotion, A2, DreamHost and other hosting providers using Cpanel.
A very important precaution you may want to take is not deleting any file permanently until you are done and have tested that all functionalities of your sites are still intact. Then view trash and delete permanently.
In summary, to check folder sizes in File Manager, simply login to your Cpanel, locate file manager and zip the folder of your choice. The actual size will show. But noted that large folders take time to compress.
