What to do now that you have seen your name in Uniben Admission List
Finally, the long awaited Uniben Admission list is out. The Uniben 2016/2017 admission list has been the most controversial and anticipated one in the history of the University of Benin. First, it was the school resuming officially without Uniben 100L students. Second, the failure to give official statement as regard the reason for the delay in the release of the admission. The stress that the candidates were subjected to cannot be over-emphasized.
In this article, I will be guiding you on the right steps to take now that you have seen your names in Uniben admission list. Remember, it is what you have in your head that takes you ahead.

Steps to take now that you have finally seen your name in Uniben Admission List
I will begin by congratulating you on your successful admission. Some many aspirants actually prayed to see their names in the Uniben admission list. Unfortunately, it did not happen. Welcome to the great university of Benin. At, least you will no longer be offering subjects but courses, no longer be having teachers but lecturers. You have asked the following questions in the past:
- How come Uniben resumed without 100L?
- Are you sure Uniben is going to admit this year?
- Like how many do they admit?
- How much is Uniben Jubeb school fees?
- Any Uniben Jubeb/pre-Screening update?

Now you have passed the first stage. It is no longer the questions above. The question before us now is “what next?” The following are the next things to do now that you have seen your name in Uniben admission list.

1. Tell your parents that you need money
One of the major things you will be doing from now is to spend money. You need an amount ranging from 150k to 250k. You may be asking, what do I need such an amount for? I understand how you feel. Here is the breakdown:
You need money for clearance
The University of Benin face to face clearance commenced on Monday 31st, 2016 at the University Basement. Remember, you have to pay your acceptance and school fees. You need photocopies of your documents. In addition, you will have to pay for record file and miscellaneous.
Money for Accommodation
If you do not have accommodation yet, you will really need money for that. If you have friends in school hostel, I will advice you stay with them. It is better to stay in school hostel.
Money for course registration
You will need to register your courses both online and offline. In addition, you will have to buy books.
Money for foodstuff and other properties
Also, you need to buy food stuff and other properties like mattress, new school bag, clothes and so on. Do not forget, rice is now very expensive…
Miscellaneous
Some times, the money will just be going, you will be wondering, how did I spend this money? this is what I call miscellaneous. This situation not exclusive to UNIBEN. Newly admitted Students in UNILAG, UI, AAU, LASU, UNIZIK, OAU, Auchi Poly and So many other Universities and Polytechnics in Nigeria face similar challenges. You need to have budget surplus.
2. YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND UNIBEN
After clearance, the next thing is to understand the school you have been admitted into. You need to know how things are done. In Uniben, you will become a casualty if you are too casual.
