Public Holidays in Difference Days of the Months of 2020

A. Public Holidays in January 2020

There is a Public holiday on January 1st. Wednesday January 1st 2020 is New year day. This is an opportunity for you to celebrate and wish your loved ones happy new year.

B. Public Holidays in February 2020

C. March Public Holidays

Women’s day is usually celebrated in March. Women’s day for 2019 was March 8th. It is not a public holiday, some persons just observe women’s day.

I will update this article is any public holiday is fixed for March 2020.

D. Public Holidays in April 2020

On the 10th and 13th of April  2020 are public holidays. April 10th 2020 is good Friday while Sunday, 12 April 2020 is Easter Sunday.  Since on Sunday is already a free day, Easter Public holiday for 2020 is on Monday 13th (Easter Monday).

Question: When is Easter 2020 date? Easter falls on Sunday the 12th of April.

E. Public Holidays in May 2020

  • May 1st (Friday) is Workers’ Day in Nigeria.
  • Sunday 24 May 2020 is Eid al-Fitr. The public holiday will be observed on Monday May 25th 2020.
  • The 27th day of May 2020 is Children’s day. It is not a holiday for everybody. Children just observe it across the country.

F. Public Holidays In June 2020

  • Since 2000, Nigeria has been celebrating May 29th as Democracy Day. In June 2018, President Buhari announced that Democracy Day would move to June 12th. There, 2020 Democracy day is June 12.
  • June 21st is fathers day but no Public holiday. You can just celebrate it.

G. Public Holidays in July 2020

Id el Kabir 2020 and 2021. Id (or Eid) el Kabir is one of the most important holidays on the Islamic Calendar. It occurs on the tenth day of the Muslim lunar month of Dhul Hijja, and festivities often continue for four days. Eid el Kabir 2020 is July 31st.

H. August And September

I. Public Holidays in October 2020

  • October 1st is Nigerian Independence day. Nigeria gained independence in 1960.
  • Thursday 29th October 2020 is eid el maulud and there is public holiday.

J. Nigeria Public Holiday in December 2020

  • Friday, December 25th is Christmas holiday.
  • Saturday, December 26th is Boxing Day.
