JAMB Direct Entry Candidates May Sit For Aptitude Test

So many persons have been asking me whether Jamb direct entry candidates for 2020 are to sit for Jamb examination like other UTME candidates. The good news is that Jamb released an official statement in that D.E candidates are not going to write Jamb examination.

However, they would sit for an aptitude test if the school they applied to conducts one. If your school of choice in Direct Entry doesn’t announce Post UTME or Exam, all you need to do is go for Screening. You may continue reading for the statement Jamb made last year!

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has disclosed that Direct Entry candidates are required to sit for a school-based aptitude test and not UTME. Fabian Benjamin, Head of Public Relations JAMB, made this known on Monday in a telephone interview with the Punch.

He said, “Direct Entry candidates will attempt an aptitude test which is school-based. They are not sitting for the UTME.

The schools would set the questions. Also, questions would come from Jamb recommended novel for direct entry. You may want to click here to see the novels for D.E

  10. The university of Ibadan has said nothing about any aptitude test for DE. I guess my question is if this new regulation is a must for all schools or some might opt not to conduct any form of screening.

    • It depends on the direct entry admission policy of your choice school…

    • Different schools set their questions. Jamb will not sponsor the exam

    • Based on related subjects. Also, the direct entry Jamb novel is compulsory

    • It will involve other subjects. However, you will be made to answer questions from the novel irrespective of your course.
