For many candidates, they feel it’s their village people following them. It is possible that your village people don’t want you to go to school. But most times, the problem is from you.

This golden article is for intelligent students who think Jamb of thing is not working for them. It is also for those who teach others to pass Jamb but are still struggling on their own to pass.

Whether it is your first Jamb, second or third, this guide belongs to you. The good news for you today is that you can be intelligent and still score very high in Jamb. Look at the reasons even Intelligent students fail Jamb:

1. Lack of Quality Study Time

Let’s face this once and for all. Being intelligent will not make you pass Jamb. It will only make it easy for you to study and understand Jamb topics faster than your friends. You, therefore, need to sit your ass down and study intensively.

STUDY SMARTER

A high score in Jamb is your ability to answer questions correctly in the exam hall. If I should ask you the question, what is Corona Discharge? You don’t need intelligence to answer the question. You just need to have studied what Corona Discharge is…

A corona discharge is an electrical discharge brought on by the ionization of a fluid such as air surrounding a conductor that is electrically charged.

2. Shallow Reading

Many intelligent students don’t read deep. They live based on assumption. They solve examples and believe that they can answer all the exercises.

Assumption is the lowest form of knowledge. Don’t assume that you know anything until proven. Prove that you know a topic by answering as many questions as possible. Shallow reading has done more harm than good.

3. Procrastination And Over-Confidence

It is overconfidence that will make rat challenge a cat in battle. Overconfidence can be your first step to scoring below 200 in Jamb 2019. Another big problem is procrastination.

Jamb is still far. This is the language of procrastinators and overconfident students. They feel there is time, forgetting that time is not a handset. Procrastination has killed many students and Jamb applicants like you. The earlier you start preparing for your 2019 UTME examination, the better for you.

4. You are in a Hurry and Never cross Check

Many scholars are too in haste. They never check to know if they answered the question correctly. You might be thinking you chose A not actually knowing that you clicked B. Cross checking your work can drammatically boost your score. You would be amazed at the errors you will find.

5. You easily forget what you have read

If you forget what you read easily, then there is a great chance that you will not do well in the exam. Whether you will remember what you have studied or not is a function of how you study. I did a thorough job on that in my article on how to maximize your fuel in the exam hall.

6. Family issues

If you’ve recently moved houses, experienced a death in the family, or had some other kind of large shift in your day-to-day life at home, your might feel too distracted to focus on your studies for Jamb. This particular point is somehow beyond your control.

7. Not Eating or Sleeping Well

Numerous studies show that skipping breakfast has a negative impact on a child’s ability to remember. Eat when necessary and sleep when necessary. Don’t focus on book so much that you don’t create time to rest. Drink plenty of water as you read.

8. Waiting for Jamb Expo and Runs

This was the major cause of the monumental failure experienced in the 2013 Jamb examination. So many persons got answers through SMS. They went ahead to choose the wrong paper type as usual. The bad news was that Jamb programmed the machine to mark according to the original paper type given to each student.

You may be wondering, but it is CBT era. Yes, UTME is now computer based. However, people still get all sort of answers by SMS on the exam date. The question is, how are you sure the answers are correct? Do not rely on anybody for help. Study hard and success will be your portion.
