Blog Niche:

In Biology, we were told that a niche is a microhabitat within the main habitat where an organism is confined to.

Let me break this down…

In every university, there are various faculties and departments. And no matter how intelligent you are, you cannot study four courses at the same time.

Even in secondary school, you can either be an art or a science student.

Relating the above illustration to the blogging world, we can liken the term Niche to the course you are studying in school. Therefore, Niche means the topic you are blogging about.

Simply, Niche means topic.

If I should ask you a simple question, what do you know about CNN, BBC, Naij, Vanguard and so on… I will simply get the keyword NEWS  in your reply. That speaks about Niche.

If you blog about the news, then you are running a news blog. If you review phones and laptops on your blog, then your niche is Technology.

In addition, if you write on topics that have to do with boyfriend and girlfriend you are running a relationship blog.

With these few points of mine, I hope I have been able to convince and not to confuse you that Niche means topic… Thank you!

Choosing a Suitable Niche:

When was the last time somebody said to you, “you are different?” Be careful of unhealthy comparison.

Don’t do things because others are doing it… Life is not to compete but to complete.

Most persons diving into the ocean of blogging want to write about everything. Unless you are running a personal blog (where you can blog about everything), you should choose a topic and stick to it.

If you like to write about Politics, write only about Politics. If you like to write about colleges and universities (school news), stick to education niche only, if you like preaching, keep preaching and so on….

Don’t say, “Mr “A” runs a news blog and he is successful, therefore, it pays more and I will go into it”.  Joshua Abuwa said, “The success of others doesn’t mean that you are failing”.

Just look for what creates the desired result for you. What works for Peter may not work for Paul (Peter and Paul them be two nor be one).

Best Niche For Students Who Wish to Blog

Students generally have time and are eager to learn. Are you a student but still thinking about the best Niche for you? Then worry no more because I am about to give you suggestions…..

This is what I am trying to say, choose a topic you enjoy and that you can write on without much struggle.

Based on their experience, I will recommend counselling, relationship or religion blog for old men and women. This is because the niche doesn’t need frequent updates; unlike news blog where you have to post articles every minute to keep relevant.

As I said, this is just a suggestion. You can still choose any other Niche that you can cope with. No harm or strings attached.

Niche For People Who Don’t Really Love Writing

By not good at writing in this context, I mean those who are not very creative or cannot create content on their own. If that is the case, consider the 10 options below:

• Get news updates, edit them, and post in your blog (News Niche).

On the other hand, if you want someone to do it yourself, then the price is negotiable. It should usually range from #20,000 and above…
