1. Thou Shall Hunger
Blessed are candidates who hunger and thirst to pass post UTME, Success shall be their portion…
Hunger here speaks of a strong desire to pass Post UTME in your school of choice. According to the Law of attraction, what you really desire would eventually come to you. Hunger will make you take the necessary steps to succeed in Post Jamb.
Be motivated to pass Post UTME this year. If you don’t continually prepare yourself and your mind to pass this exam, there is nothing someone else can do to prepare you.
Don’t take what comes, go for what you want. Desire a Post UTME score and work towards making it a reality. Alway’s tell yourself, “I must pass this Post UTME examination once and for all”.
Now that you have made a confession to pass Post-UTME, always think about Post UTME, make plans towards your Post UTME date and finally, spend quality time studying for your Post UTME.

2. Thou Shall Forget UTME Score
Post UTME simply means after UTME. It is an exam that comes After Jamb. How you see your Jamb score will go a long way to affect your Post-UTME Aggregate Score.
You need to develop a positive attitude towards Post UTME irrespective of your Jamb score. Strive to pass Post UTME in your University, Polytechnic or College of Education of your choice.
Post-UTME is an important factor that determines who gains admission. Even if you scored low in Jamb, Post Jamb gives you a golden opportunity to study your desired course at the University.
A low Jamb score is not the end of life. In fact, Post Jamb is good news for candidates with low Jamb score.
One of the greatest mistakes candidates make in Post UTME is thinking that their high Jamb score is enough. Don’t be deceived….. no matter how high your Jamb score is, a very low Post UTME score can deny you admission. Be warned!

3. Thou Shall Revive Reading Appetite
Your appetite determines your satisfaction…
It is normal to lose reading appetite after studying to pass Jamb plus the circumstances that follow Jamb UTME. This loss of appetite for reading comes in four ways:
- Giving up because of Low Jamb Score
- Relaxed because of high Jamb Score
- Lost of motivation for the school and course
- Nothing reading for some months
If you don’t wake up and read now, you will simply come back next year. The bad news is that you are not coming back to read for just Post UTME. You will have to write Jamb all over and then Post UTME. You won’t even have the chance to sit for Post UTME if you fail Jamb the next year.
There is no excuse for failure, you need to stop anything that has the potential to stop your success. You can always revive your dying appetite for reading. Think of what you stand to lose…
Recommended: Revive your appetite for reading
4. Thou Shall Not Procrastinate
Later things… This is the language of procrastinators; they always think there is time. My dear, do whatever you need to do now.
Time is an asset and not a handset. The undoing of many candidates is that they postpone what they can now to the future.
If you have the time and chance to read now, do it. Don’t say, “I will read tomorrow”. Do you know why? You never can tell what will happen tomorrow. In fact, what makes you not to study today will also make you not to study tomorrow even if you have free time. Therefore, do what you should do here and now.
The latter you always say doesn’t come as expected. Learn to live your life with a sense of urgency. Have the mentality, “I am behind schedule…”. Your Post UTME is not far.

5. Thou Shall Study Longer
Reading for less than 3 hours daily is okay for you as a secondary school student. But the demand on you gets higher with time.
Studying for long hours doesn’t necessarily mean you should read for 10 hours straight. Study the maximum hour your can in a roll, give yourself some break, come back again and study as much as your power can carry. Studying at intervals and with a free mind will go a long way to help you cover a lot.
Effective reading is a function of time (So long other factors are constant). You may not be fast enough to change time but you can be fast enough to maximise time. Increase the number of hours you read daily.
Now, you may be wondering about how to study for long hours. It is very easy….. I have written a detailed article on how to study for long hours without losing concentration. Trust me, it’s going to be of great benefit to you.
Recommended: How to read for long hours
6. Thou Shall Learn To Remember
What is the essence of reading when you can’t remember? Only a fool learns to forget…
To pass Post UTME once and for all, you must learn to remember. It is more important to remember what you have read.
The difference between someone who reads for shorter hours but pass very well and another who studies for long hours but don’t perform well is “remembrance”.
After reading, ask yourself, “What Can I remember?
Study to remember and not to forget. If you can remember all you have read, then success will smile on you. Do whatever will make you pass Post UTME examination genuinely.
Read: How to remember all you have read in the hall.
7. Thou Shall Learn Jarking Styles
Jarking means reading in a smart way. There are some topics and points that need to be understood and others that need to be crammed.
Don’t waste your time understanding what you should just memorise and don’t cram what you should understand. In general, don’t cram questions that can be twisted.
I know that you want to gain admission into the University. I wish you what you wish for yourself. But one thing should always be in your mind, “to survive in the University, you must jark”.
Reading is good but jarking pays. And in the world of Jarking, there are different styles to adopt so as to be successful when the Post UTME results are released. Trust me, I have written a full guide on how to jark for your own good.
Recommended: 8 Jarking styles that pay in the University.
8. Practice With Past Questions
Past questions are the picture of your future questions; Learn to practice past questions.
How do I get Post UTME past questions for my School of choice? It is very easy. Post UTME past questions are sold in bookshops around Universities and various lecture houses. You may want to click here to Join the flashlearners Post UTME Classes.
When it comes to Post UTME, Use the following resources:
9. Thou Shall Test Yourself
Assumption is a funny form of knowledge. Do not assume, test yourself…
It is not enough to keep reading. Try to always test yourself to know your level of preparedness.
There are many ways you can test yourself; they included practising past questions without looking at the answers and setting custom exams for yourself. You can as well test yourself using flashlearners quiz session.
Read signs that you are not prepared
10. Thou Shall Speed Up
Post UTME is not all about what you know; it is about how much you are able to deliver within a short time.
The difference between Waec and Post UTME is not just the difficulty of Questions. Post UTME Requires you to be very fast. A science aspirant with average speed will certainly not be able to finish in Post UTME.
The greatest demand in Post UTME is time. If you are not fast enough, then you won’t finish. You need to dramatically improve your exam answering skills. Do you want to learn how to answer questions faster in the exam hall? Check here to learn more.
11. Thou Shall Learn To Cram
Your dad said you should not cram and you are still confused about whether to cram or not? Hear this, there are times you need to cram.
When it comes to examinations, there are things that need to be understood and other things that needs to be crammed.
Many topics that require listings will need you to memorise. For example, you need to memorise the first 20 elements in chemistry, you need to memorise formulas in Mathematics and Physiscs for faster solution to problems.
Do you want to know the importance of cramming and when you should cram? Go through the amazing debate and article by clicking here.
12. Thou Shall Solve Without a Calculator
Most schools test your ability to solve calculation questions without a calculator. This is one of the reasons medicine, science and Engineering Candidates find it more difficult to score high in Post UTME.
We can get so used to calculators that we don’t even know the answer to 1/4 without punching a calculator. I can see that you are trying to get the answer…
Most schools do not allow the use of calculator in their Post UTME. Therefore, you must learn to solve problems without pressing your calculator. It is time to temporarily break the covenant you have with calculator.
13. Thou Shall Learn Night Reading
Success in Post UTME may require you to adjust your sleeping pattern.
Many candidates make the statement, “I don’t know how to read at night”. my dear, it is time to know how to read at night. You can get so busy during the days that you need night reading to meet up.
By reading at night, I don’t suggest that you study all through the night. Simply sleep early, wake up strong, read for how long your strength can carry you. Make sure you understand what you are reading…
You must learn how to handle your night. The day is usually not enough to do everything you should. The night is a golden opportunity for you to capture your future and acquire your desire.
One thing to note is that Post UTME preparation is not forever. You are sacrificing a few weeks to ensure you don’t sacrifice a full year.
14. Thou Shall Follow Lectures
Attending lectures is very helpful. If you find it difficult to be self-taught then consider attending a good lecture house close to you. Meeting fellow aspirants will ginger you to pass Post UTME by all means.
I have stated many times that it is advisable to attend a good Post Jamb Centre in your area. This is easier than reading all on your own. However, there is something better now.

15. Thou Shall Love Your Subjects
I don’t like mathematics. This is the complaint of many students.
You don’t need to like Mathematics or every other subject; after all, you guys are not dating. Simply understand the required subjects for the sake of the examination.
Come to think of think, Waec and Jamb allow you to choose subjects; you, therefore, you shouldn’t hate more than one subject in Post UTME.
It is true that everyone has areas of weakness. However, it is also true that weaknesses can be handled. Handle your weakness now and pass Post UTME examination once and for all.
